periaxin
Protein originally suggested to initiate myelin deposition in peripheral nerves. Two isoforms exist coded by a single gene. L-periaxin (147 kD) is localized to plasma membrane of Schwann cells, S-periaxin (16 kD) is diffusely cytoplasmic. Both possess PDZ-domains.
